1st week of advent

its our first time to celebrate advent in our family. naisip ko magandang tradition ito, instead of focusing our family in buying new clothes and toys, i thought of a new tradition that i wish my kids may past it to their own children.

last monday i read bo sanchez about mini parties, that how i came to think about advent , we celebrate the 1st week advent as our mini party for the coming Christmas, and here it goes

1.i bought 4 tiny candles and Christmas ball and place it to a dinner plate. no need to buy fancy plate for candles,
2. i bought chihciria ( i guess if i try to buy fancy food for our mini party , it wont be could mini party anymore, and it will just give more  hassle to prepare. i place those chichiria at their own Christmas socks
3. i place the advent candle ,children bible, and count-the-day flip chart( so they know how many days are left for the Christmas) at the table
4. we start by explaining to them our new tradition and the meaning of it, i said to them that chrismas is not about new clothes,santa claus, new toys and other material things , its about the birth of God  our Savior,

5. we lit the first candle, i read a children bible about Mary, that an angel send a message to Mary ,that God choose her to be the mother of  God's promise  King .
6. after that they are excited to get their own socks and see whats inside of it
7. we eat. and can't wait fro the 2nd week of advent
